The local buses (KTEL) operate throughout the touristic season (April to October). Taking a bus is the cheapest way to move around the island and the cost is no more than two euros per route.

The frequency depends on the time of the season. July and August are the busiest months and the buses operate regularly.

There are three main bus stations which are the following:

  • Fabrika square. Buses depart towards Plati Yialo, Psarou, Orno, Agios Ioannis, Paradise and Paraga.
  • The square just across OTE by the entrance to the town (close to the old port). Buses depart towards Ano Mera, Kalafati and Elia Beach.
  • Old port. Buses depart towards the new port, Tourlos and Agios Stefanos.
